The Jazz Lounge series presents a performance by the charismatic Estonian singer, composer and improviser Kadri Voorand, whose music always combines a strong emotional message with pronounced rhythmic approach, unique pop improvisation and elements of jazz and folk.

Kadri has earned significant recognition at home, winning the Estonian Music Award in the Female Artist of the Year category and multiple times ‒ in the Jazz Album of the Year category.

Performing with Kadri, the other half of the duet is Mihkel Mälgand, one of the most active bass players in Estonia. He has worked with jazz stars like Kurt Elling, Nils Landgren and Dave Liebman. Kadri and Mihkel’s interplay is defined by their harmonious sense of rhythm and talent for improvisation.

Heart-breaking ballads in their repertoire rub shoulders with pronounced groove that is accompanied by unique turns of melody and unexpected, daring lyrics.

The two artists have performed in Estonia and abroad, including jazz festivals like EFG London Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Pori Jazz, Jazz Baltica, Tampere Jazz Happening, Marburg City Festival, Südtirol Jazz Festival and Bejing Nine Gates Jazz Festival.
