The musician appears with the leading orchestras of the world and performs at the most prestigious international concert halls; he has also received rave reviews from the critics for a number of his recordings. The renowned cello player is the artistic director of the Colmar Chamber Music Festival. In Cēsis, the stage partner of the French musician will be the critically acclaimed Estonian pianist Peeter Laul whose performance is defined by his brilliant technique, incredible musicality and subtle touch. The pianist is a prize winner of several international musical contests.

The programme chosen by Marc Coppey and Peeter Laul for the Cello Cēsis Festival will feature both the powerful and sweeping sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms and some colourful miniatures for the cello; ‘Le cygne’ (‘The Swan’) by Camille Saint-Saëns will be one of these chamber music gems.
