Daniil Bulayev, violin
Davinspiro Camerata Chamber Orchestra
Special guests: Andrey Pushkarev, Guntars Freibergs and musicians of his ensemble
Daniil Bulayev and the Davinspiro Camerata Chamber Orchestra invite audiences to an expressive concert featuring both well-known works and Latvian and world premieres. The programme will be enriched by the unique sound of outstanding percussionists Andrey Pushkarev, Guntars Freibergs, and the musicians of his ensemble.
The first half of the concert will feature Apollonian Dances for chamber orchestra by Swedish contemporary composer Albert Schnelzer, as well as the world premiere of the Violin Concerto by Spanish conductor, pianist, and composer Melani Mestre. The work is dedicated to Daniil Bulayev and the Davinspiro Camerata Chamber Orchestra.
The second half will present a masterpiece of ballet music and one of composer Rodion Shchedrin’s most iconic works – Carmen Suite for string orchestra and percussion, based on motifs from Georges Bizet’s opera Carmen.
Speaking about the programme, Daniil Bulayev says:
"This programme will be a journey through various aspects of dance and rhythm in chamber orchestra music. While our programme at the Cēsis Concert Hall in February was filled with reflection and deep emotions, this time the emphasis is on a brighter and more joyful atmosphere. I am especially delighted that the outstanding percussionists Andrey Pushkarev, Guntars Freibergs, and the musicians of his ensemble will join the Davinspiro Camerata Chamber Orchestra for this programme. I am convinced that the audience will have the opportunity to experience melodic traditions and dance rhythms from different cultures – from a world premiere to the universally beloved Carmen."
